The Clamcleat® CL253 is the sailor’s preferred choice for quickly and securely adjusting trapeze lines, vangs, kicking straps, outhauls, and small dinghy forestays. Designed for performance and ease of use, it features a built-in pulley and provides a firm, positive lock that’s quick to release — even under load.
Each CL253 includes a black PTLINK, which helps make rope release smoother and easier – especially useful in fast-paced dinghy sailing or windsurfing setups. Also ideal for use in adjustable downhaul systems.

Manufactured from marine-grade aluminium and available in two finishes:
- Silver stove enamel: Cost-effective, high-quality coating
- Hard anodised: Extra durable, wear-resistant finish
Note: If used to support body weight (e.g., in trapeze systems), the cleat should be inspected regularly. Surface wear is normal, but any damage to the working or load-bearing parts means the cleat should be replaced.
Tip: For best performance, use with 16-plait rope.
